The more things change, the more they remain the same. I wonder if it was intended as that but Alphonse Karr's aforementioned quip sums up how the Indian campaign at the Olympics yields strikingly similar results every leap year.

The Chinese have their own calendar, but presumably 2008 will be the year of Michael Phelps. For the American, sweeping medals more than a few countries put together is not something that happens only every four years.
