Pak & US - Changing equations

Since the U.S.A. was targeted by terrorist outfits on September 11, 2001, there have been drastic changes in the Pakistan- America relations. Pakistan has been the favourite partner of America.
During cold war, Pakistan got a lot of monetary and military assistance from the USA. The situation for Pakistan became more favourable when the Soviet troops infiltrated into Afghanistan in 1979. America launched its anti-Soviet campaign in Afghanistan via Pakistan.

Tackling terror

Given the severity and frequency of terror attacks in the country and loss of hundreds of innocent lives, it is time to re-think the anti-terror strategies. While voices are being raised for stringent anti-terror laws, global experiences show that excessive use of force, draconian laws, inept handling of suspected lots and other counter-terror measures have failed miserably to contain terror attacks and can have counter-productive results.

The Nanavati commission report has aroused extreme reaction of being eyewash, partisan, murder of democracy and even creation of Narendra Modi for his own justification.
